Connect AWS Account

Follow these simple steps to complete the setup modal and securely integrate your AWS environment for AI-driven analysis.
Zero-X for Client

1. Configure Basic Information

Enter the basic details required to identify your AWS account:
  • Account Name – Enter a unique name for the AWS account.
  • Environment – Select the appropriate environment:
    • Development
    • Testing
    • Staging
    • Production

2. Choose Authentication Method

Select one of the following authentication methods:
  • AWS Access Key ID
  • AWS Secret Access Key
Note: Ensure the IAM user has the required read-only permissions for cloud analysis.

Option B: Cross-Account (Assume Role)

Use this option to securely connect AWS using an IAM Role.
  1. Download the CloudFormation template from Zero-X.
  2. Create a CloudFormation Stack in your AWS account.
  3. Generate the External ID from Zero-X.
  4. Copy the generated Role ARN from the CloudFormation Outputs.
  5. Paste the Role ARN into Zero-X.

3. Select Analysis Scope

Choose one or more AWS Regions that should be included in the cloud security analysis.Example: ap-south-1 (Mumbai), us-east-1, eu-west-1

4. Verify Integration

Click Verify Integration. Zero-X validates:
  • AWS credentials
  • IAM permissions
  • Selected regions
  • Account connectivity

5. Complete Setup

After successful verification:
  1. Review the account information.
  2. Click Connect.
The AWS account is added successfully and is ready for cloud security analysis.

1. Basic Configuration

Identify this integration within your workspace:
  1. Account Name: Enter a clear, descriptive name (e.g., Production-AWS, Staging-Environment).
  2. Environment: Click the dropdown menu and select the environment type (e.g., Production, Staging, Development).

2. Authentication Method

Choose how you want to connect your AWS account:
  • Access Key (access key + secret key) (Default): Best for standard programmatic access.
  • Cross-Account (Assume Role): Select this if your organization requires IAM Role assumption across accounts.

3. Enter Credentials

If using Access Key authentication:
  • AWS Access Key ID: Paste your IAM User access key ID (typically starts with AKIA...).
  • AWS Secret Access Key: Paste the corresponding secret access key associated with your key ID.

4. Analysis Scope

  • AWS Regions: Select the specific AWS region(s) you wish to include in the analysis (e.g., us-east-1, eu-west-1, ap-south-1).

5. Verify & Finalize

  • Click the Verify Integration button at the bottom right to validate credentials and complete setup.
